Billycan was started in 1994 by Simon Giles as a label for stage set, exhibition stand, and graphic design. Initially all visuals and technical specification work was hand-drawn, before gradually adding Computer-Aided Design and expanding into commercial interior work. By 1998 the focus shifted to modern furniture, film set & event props, lighting, and some sculpture, alongside (aliens) experimental graphics and video work. From 2008 to date Simon has designed the layout, bespoke furniture & lighting for Creek Creative Studios, a NFP Art Centre in Faversham, Kent, he established with partner Anne in 2009, working on other creative projects in parallel.
